The Philippines has opened its first centralized, multi-platform Tourist Assistance Call Center to improve safety and convenience for international visitors, with a special focus on Korean tourists. The 24/7 service covers phone, mobile, email and Facebook Messenger and acts as a national control tower to handle everyday issues and emergencies. A dedicated Korean-language desk operates year-round (including public holidays), staffed by agents who completed three months of tourism training and the “Philippine Brand Service Excellence (FBSE)” program. Services include travel information, leisure activity inquiries (e.g., diving), complaint handling and emergency support, with all interactions logged in a CRM (customer relationship management) system. The initiative supports the National Tourism Development Plan (NTDP, 2023–2028) to enhance visitor experience, strengthen the tourism sector and boost the country’s image as a destination Koreans would want to revisit.
