Busan Cultural Center opens registration for its 2026 spring academy (March 9–July 1) offering an integrated arts education program covering music, visual art, and performing arts. The academy balances lecture-style humanities courses with hands-on practice so citizens can both understand and experience the arts. Humanities lectures include composer Kim Sang-heon’s “A Classical Journey with Kim Sang-heon” (weekly Mondays, Apr 13–Jun 22), Hwang Jo-gyo’s two-session talk “Musical: What Are You Exactly?” (Apr 16 & 23) exploring musical history and structure, and art critic Lee Jin-suk’s “101 Artists Who Changed Art History” (weekly Wednesdays, Apr 22–Jul 1). Practical workshops, in collaboration with the Busan Municipal Arts Troupe, offer 7 studio courses—such as samulnori (traditional percussion), piri (bamboo oboe), haegeum (two-stringed fiddle), geomungo (zither), daegeum (bamboo flute), gayageum (12-string zither), and dance—each with 16 sessions for structured practice.
