Busan offers a variety of cultural options during the five-day 2026 Lunar New Year (Seollal) holiday (Feb 14–18), which coincides with Valentine’s Day. Highlights include: performances — National Busan Gugak Center’s “Sound & Food” (a Seollal-themed show blending traditional music, songs about festive foods, and the Geumhoe drum dance; audience members receive a ‘happiness rice cake’), a Valentine’s wine concert at the small venue VivaAccell with romantic classics and wine/chocolate service, a Studio Ghibli film-music concert at Haeundae Cultural Center, and a family musical “Rapunzel” at Shinsegae Centum City. Exhibitions and interactive programs — Busan Museum’s New Year card-making workshop based on the Joseon-era painting “Yuhamado” (柳下馬圖) plus folk games and traditional costume/tea ceremony experiences; Busan Museum of Modern Art’s “My Home Is Me” platform exhibition exploring housing and urban life with AR and pavilions; KT&G SangsangMadang’s “Spring Snow” installation featuring tufting work and hourly “snow” events; National Maritime Museum’s cross‑Korea–Japan shells (패각) exhibition tracing shared maritime history; and local history shows at the Busan Modern History Museum and Busan Citizens Park. Many venues operate normally through the holiday (some exceptions noted). Ticket prices vary (many exhibitions free); several family-friendly, hands-on activities are available without prior reservation.
