BBQ Opens Third Myeong-dong Store, 80% of Customers Are Foreigners

Genesis BBQ has opened a new BBQ branch at the entrance to Myeong-dong in Seoul, creating a triangle of three outlets (Myeong-dong Star, Myeong-dong, and Euljiro Entrance). The new 'BBQ Village' is a mixed-concept location offering chicken plus pizza, burgers, Korean snacks (bunsik), and bakery items to attract families and tourists. The Myeong-dong Star and Myeong-dong stores see about 80% foreign customers, and the company says repeat visits have increased via tour group bookings and social media reviews. Asian visitors tend to prefer wings and drumsticks, while Western visitors favor boneless options. Popular menu items include Golden Olive Chicken, BbumChi King, seasoned Golden Olive, half-and-half chicken, and Map-sody (spicy chicken). BBQ plans to expand brand experiences in key tourist areas to serve global visitors.
