Lotte Wellfood’s ready-meal brand ‘Theory of SICSA’ launched two collaborative frozen products with certified veteran small businesses called ‘Baeknyeon Gage’ (백년가게, “hundred-year store” program). The ‘Theory of SICSA x Hyungje Songjeong Tteokgalbi’ uses 100% Korean pork, double-aged soy sauce for deep umami, and is charcoal-grilled (without artificial smoke) to keep rich juices. The ‘Theory of SICSA x Shinya Chicken Dakgangjeong’ uses 100% chicken thigh, brined and aged with domestic onions and garlic for savory chewiness, a 30-year recipe sauce, and a double-fry technique that preserves a crispy coating even after microwave reheating. The collaboration is part of an initiative to boost the brand value and sales channels of long-standing small food businesses officially certified by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups; ‘Baeknyeon Gage’ recognizes shops operating for 30+ years, while ‘Baeknyeon Sogongin’ recognizes skilled micro-business owners with 15+ years. Lotte Wellfood said it will continue offering high-quality frozen meals that highlight traditional flavors nationwide.
