South Korea is seeing a significant increase in cruise tourists, with 814,000 visitors in 2022, a threefold rise compared to the previous year. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST), along with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, predicts 1.09 million cruise tourists by 2025, surpassing their previous target of 1 million by 2027. After a decline due to geopolitical tensions and the COVID-19 pandemic, the country is focusing on revitalizing cruise tourism through improved infrastructure, enhanced tour products, promotional activities, and incentives. This includes developing themed tourist products at seven major cruise destinations and expanding incentives for cruise lines using port facilities.
