After a two-year hiatus, Mingles, a renowned restaurant in Seoul's Cheongdam-dong, has been awarded a Michelin 3 star, making it the only one in Korea with this highest recognition. The Michelin Guide revealed its Seoul & Busan 2025 list, with 234 total restaurants listed and 40 receiving stars. Mingles, led by Chef Kang Min-gu, is noted for its unique fusion of traditional and contemporary Korean dishes served in a Korean-style interior. Chef Joseph Lidgerwood's "Evett" also gained attention by being elevated to 2 stars, showcasing innovative dishes like ant-based sikhye sorbet. Other new restaurants received their first Michelin stars, highlighting the evolving culinary scene in Korea.
