The Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Police Agency will fund a six-year, 27.3 billion won program (273억 원) to commercialize core public safety (치안) technologies and speed their adoption in the field. Starting in 2026, the initiative will support the full development-to-market cycle—productization, certification, field trials, and demand linkage—across 44 projects. In 2026 the program will select seven new projects and fund each for about two years at roughly 500 million won. The call for proposals runs Jan 30–Mar 3; details are on the ministries’ and the Science Police Promotion Center (과학치안진흥센터) websites. Officials say the program aims to lower barriers for capable firms to enter public safety R&D and ensure research outcomes are quickly deployed to improve citizens’ safety.
