Guri City Opens New Sutaek 2-dong Administrative Welfare Center

Guri City in Gyeonggi Province held an opening ceremony on Feb. 4 for the new Sutaek 2-dong Administrative Welfare Center (dong office). About 200 people, including Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun, local officials, community leaders and residents attended ribbon cutting, recognition awards, congratulatory speeches, a performance, a rice cake (tteok) cake cutting, and a tour of the facility. The previous building, in use since 1989, had become outdated and lacked parking and elevators. The city began planning in 2014, started construction in July 2023, and completed a new building in December 2025 with three basement levels and four above-ground floors totaling 6,521 m² to better meet growing administrative needs and provide resident-centered services.
