Musinsa Opens First Standalone PB Beauty Store, Challenges Daiso in Budget Cosmetics

Fashion platform Musinsa will launch its first standalone store dedicated to its private brand (PB) 'Musinsa Standard Beauty' at Hyundai Department Store Mokdong on the 12th, signaling a full-scale entry into Korea's ultra-low-price cosmetics market long led by Daiso. The compact 30㎡ shop will showcase about 20 key products so customers can test textures and scents in-store. Musinsa, which shifted toward ultra-budget, value-focused beauty after a 2023 strategic MOU with cosmetics maker Cosmax, plans to evaluate the new store's performance before expanding PB beauty outlets. The move intensifies competition in the 'value cosmetics' sector already booming with Daiso and big retailers like Olive Young, Lotte Mart, and E-mart. (PB: private brand)
