Goyang City Restarts Medical Tourism Coordinators to Boost 'MediCity Goyang'

Goyang City in Gyeonggi Province has resumed its Medical Tourism Coordinator program this month to offer professional, structured services to foreign patients. After reorganizing last year, a new team of six coordinators—fluent in languages such as Russian, Mongolian, and Chinese—will provide end-to-end, personalized support including hospital appointment booking, interpretation and consultation, and post-care guidance. The city plans to expand language coverage as demand grows. Foreign patients can request a coordinator through their intended hospital or apply directly; coordinators will liaise with medical institutions on their behalf. Goyang aims to use its concentration of general and specialized hospitals to strengthen ties with medical providers, raise patient convenience and satisfaction, and promote the “MediCity Goyang” brand. The city is also producing promotional materials, conducting overseas marketing, and building a medical institution cooperation network to further activate medical tourism.
