As air travel resumes, travelers wonder which in-flight items they may keep. According to U.S. airline and TSA guidelines, disposable personal items such as packaged snacks, single-use headphones, wet wipes, and amenity kits (toothbrush, earplugs, eye mask) or disposable slippers and pajamas from premium cabins are generally allowed to be taken off the plane. In-flight magazines are often free to keep but some airlines don’t provide or collect them. However, airline property must be left behind: blankets, pillows, safety cards, life vests, oxygen masks, and reusable metal tableware are considered aircraft assets and should not be removed. Also note that taking food across borders may be restricted by local quarantine or customs rules.
