Samyang Foods launched a premium Lunar New Year gift set called “Samyang1963” that looks like a traditional meat gift box but contains the company’s upscale instant ramen. Priced at 19,630 KRW and limited to 1,963 sets, the package uses elegant wrapping (bojagi) and premium design to evoke holiday gifting while offering an affordable, witty alternative. Early buyers on Kakao Gift can get a 2,000 KRW discount; sales expand to Naver’s official store after Feb. 5. The product revives an old frying method (uji oil frying) with a “golden blend” of tallow and palm oil for a nutty, savory noodle, and combines liquid and powdered seasonings plus flakes to create a rich broth based on beef bone stock with radish, green onion, and cheongyang chili pepper for a clean but deep taste. Samyang says the stunt aims to bring fresh attention to the brand and make holiday gifting more approachable.
