Belgian artist Casper Bosmans presents his first solo show in Korea, "Peas, Pod," at Gladstone Seoul in Cheongdam through March 14. The exhibition uses a recurring pea-and-pod motif—peas inside a single pod depicted with different colors and patterns—to explore identity and relationships across paintings, sculptures, and murals. Central works include the pea-pod series, a bronze arch sculpture titled "Banded Bridge" that connects separate pedestals, and the "Legend Painting" series that juxtaposes symbolic animals in a nod to Western heraldry (family crests). A notable painting, "Two Kids in a Trenchcoat," metaphorically addresses concealing or adjusting identity within social norms. Bosmans incorporates references to artists Forrest Bess and José Leonilson and borrows mythic and folkloric symbols without fixing them to a single narrative, inviting open interpretation. The artist, born in Roeselare (Belgium) and active between Brussels and Amsterdam, has exhibited internationally and collaborated with Belgian luxury brand Delvaux. The show runs until March 14.
