The South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Korea Tourism Organization launched the 17th Tourism Venture Contest to find 100 innovative firms using AI and digital technologies to transform tourism. Applicants are grouped by stage: pre-startup (20), early-stage (within 3 years, 40), and growth-stage (3–7 years, 40). Sectors include tourism experiences, immersive content, infrastructure, and deep-tech. Selected ventures receive up to 100 million won (about $75,000) in commercialization funding through November, plus practical training, expert mentoring, investor matchmaking, and networking like the “Tourism Company Connection Week.” Past supported firms have gained recognition at events such as CES. Details and applications are on the Touraz (touraz.kr) portal; final selections announced in late April after document and presentation reviews. (CES: Consumer Electronics Show)
