Hassan Yun of Hankook Ilbo Wins Top Story Award at 62nd Korean Press Photo Exhibition

Hankook Ilbo multimedia reporter Ha Sang-yun was named the grand prize winner in the Story category at the 62nd Korean Press Photo Exhibition, hosted by the Korean Association of Press Photographers. Ha’s winning series, “Fragments of Grief, May the Memories Stay Whole,” documented the pain of relatives who lost parents and a younger brother in the December 29, 2024 Jeju Air passenger tragedy (Jeju Air passenger disaster). The Korean Press Photo Exhibition is the country’s most prestigious contest for news photographers from newspapers, news agencies and online outlets, judging entries across five categories: News, Sports, Feature & Nature, Portrait, and Story. The award-winning works will be displayed at Gwanghwamun Square (Playground) from April 7 to 12.
