Musinsa, South Korea’s leading online fashion platform, reported cumulative global transactions of 24 billion won and says its global store has grown about threefold annually since launch in September 2022. The platform now showcases over 4,000 K-fashion brands across 13 regions, and combined listings on local channels like Japan’s ZOZOTOWN and China’s Tmall exceed 3 million items. Japan is the fastest-growing market—transaction value rose 145% year-on-year, with monthly sales topping 100 million won in October and demand spreading beyond Tokyo to Osaka, Kanagawa and Fukuoka. Musinsa has run pop-up stores and opened physical shops in Japan and China, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors, and supports Korean designers’ overseas expansion through partnerships and distribution (e.g., Martine Kim’s Japan stores). Musinsa also acts as a “global distribution hub,” bringing Japanese brands into Korea, and is expanding its beauty offerings internationally, with beauty sales up 161% year-on-year. The company plans more offline stores and pop-ups in Japan and China this year and gradual entry into Southeast Asian markets such as Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia.
