Early Anti-Aging Era: Delivery, Not Just Ingredients, Is Key

Korean skincare brand Serbon highlights a shift in anti-aging care from ingredient lists to how deeply active ingredients reach the skin. With global anti-aging demand rising and younger consumers in their late 20s seeking wrinkle and elasticity solutions, the market focus is moving toward delivery and penetration technologies rather than only ingredient concentration. Serbon’s Tuning X line uses NICT penetration technology—based on a “cell-penetrating peptide” discovered during next-generation vaccine research by a Seoul National University–linked team—to transport large anti-aging proteins and growth factors into skin cells (cellular delivery). Its research was published and featured on the cover of the journal ACS Materials Letters, supporting the scientific credibility of the approach. Serbon terms this approach “cell-reach care,” reframing efficacy evaluation from “what you apply” to “how far the effective ingredient reaches,” and positioning penetration technology as the new competitive edge for early anti-aging skincare.
