Outrigger Hospitality Group will officially sponsor The Hapalua Half-Marathon, held April 12 on a 13.1-mile (21 km) course around Waikiki. The race starts near the Duke Kahanamoku statue and showcases Diamond Head’s coastal views, Kapiolani Park, and downtown Honolulu. Outrigger says the sponsorship aligns with its focus on Hawaiian culture, community engagement, and sustainability, aiming to share the local “aloha spirit” (a Hawaiian concept of hospitality and kindness) with participants. The event is presented as both a sporting competition and a community festival that highlights Hawaii’s welcoming culture and local traditions.
