Korean Arts Association Kicks Off Year with Events, Awards, and Donations

The Korea Culture and Arts Promotion Association (Daemunhyeop) held its annual meeting and New Year ceremony in Seoul, announcing active programming for 2025. Planned events include the Yemak-Akgamu festival at Namsan Gugakdang (a traditional music venue) on June 10–11 and the Korea Culture and Arts Festival at the National Gugak Center’s Yeaakdang (a concert hall for traditional Korean music) on September 17–18. The association presented its 2025 Korea Culture and Arts Awards: top prize to Korean dancer Yoo Jeong-sook, with several artists honored in excellence and merit categories. Former parliamentary leader Woo Yoon-geun cut the New Year cake; musical performances and donations from corporations and individuals supported the event. Chair Park Mi-young pledged expanded activities to share culture and the arts with audiences nationwide.
