PoPoze, South Korea’s largest pet funeral brand run by PetDoc, opened its eighth direct branch on Jan. 29 in Yangji-eup, Cheoin-gu, Yongin. The 450㎡ facility features consultation rooms, embalming and cremation spaces, three memorial rooms, viewing rooms, waiting areas, a memorial-stone (memory stone) workshop, and columbarium. Staff of eight funeral guides work in shifts from 8 a.m. to midnight. After consultation, owners may spend final time with their pet in a memorial room; cremation can be attended or not. Funeral staff prepare ashes and can make a memory stone on-site while owners watch. The branch aims to reduce wait times for southern Gyeonggi and Seoul clients and to offer a warm, bright atmosphere rather than a somber one. Plans include creating outdoor natural burials (lawn burials, mountain burials, tree burials) and an outdoor memorial area. PoPoze uses a proprietary SaaS operations platform called FOPOS for real-time reservations, automated scheduling, service and settlement, vehicle dispatch, post-care messaging, and digital certification, with tablets available for clients to view funeral progress and receive documents via KakaoTalk or email.
