The Seoul Museum of Craft has extended 'Dancing, Dreaming, Enlightening,' a donation exhibition by pioneer fashion-artist Geum Ki-sook, after it drew over 200,000 visitors within four weeks — the highest attendance in the museum's history. Opened on Dec. 23, the show was extended one week to March 22 and is free to visit from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM (Fridays until 9:00 PM); closed Mondays and no reservation required. The exhibition spotlights Geum’s innovative 'wearable art' creations made from unconventional materials like wire, beads, old fabric, and discarded items (spangles, straws, sponge, foil) and features 56 donated works and 485 archive items given to the museum. The dramatic 'Dreaming' gallery, featuring the centerpiece 'White Plum' dress (백매) set among black mirrors and lighting, has become a major photo spot. Strong word-of-mouth on social media and online communities helped label it one of the “must-see” 2026 shows. The program also includes workshops where visitors can engage directly with the artist. Museum director Kim Soo-jung said the exhibition broadened public interest in fashion-as-craft and hopes the extension lets more local and international visitors experience the show.
