Shinsegae Department Store is presenting the largest domestic solo exhibition by Japanese artist KYNE at Shinsegae Gallery Cheongdam in Seoul's Gangnam through April 4. The show centers on KYNE’s latest works and an archive of signature pieces, highlighting her ROUTE 3 series inspired by National Route 3 (ROUTE 3) in Fukuoka. About 50 previously unseen works are on display, alongside a large mural the artist painted on the gallery wall. Exhibition-limited prints (three designs) and themed goods are available. KYNE, based in Fukuoka, draws on 1980s manga, female pop-idol record jackets and street culture to create portraits of women and urban narratives; she has expanded into fashion collaborations, CD jacket design and advertising and gained international attention in the 2010s.
