Uchu Jin Ramen, led by CEO Chae Hwa-seok, is gaining attention in Korea by creating fusion ramen that bridges authentic Japanese ramen and mainstream tastes. The brand offers dishes like tonkotsu shoyu ramen, spicy karai tantanmen (choice of broth spiciness and noodle thickness), maesaengi tsukemen, and seasonal hiyashi tantanmen. Their ramen features a rich 16-hour bone broth and chewy noodles with varied toppings; adding rice makes it a satisfying meal. Popular with busy office workers and professionals, the chain — headquartered in Euljiro with branches in Jamsil, Gangnam and Lotte Department Store in Changwon — boasts high repeat visits and is nicknamed a “ramen black hole.” CEO Chae, recognized with the 2026 Sports Seoul Innovation Leader award, says the company handles marketing-driven franchise openings and is receiving many new and renewal franchise inquiries.
