The LG Art Center, a prominent contemporary performance venue in Korea, celebrates 25 years since its opening and three years since its relocation to the Magok district in Seoul. Originally starting in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam in 2000, the center earned a reputation as a trustworthy place to experience global and domestic artistic performances. In 2022, LG relocated the center to a new building in Seoul Botanic Park, designed by world-renowned architect Tadao Ando. LG Art Center's new direction focuses on expanding its genre spectrum and increasing visitor engagement with diverse educational programs. The shift from Yeoksam to Magok saw a significant increase in audience numbers and engagement, particularly from Seoul's southwestern areas. As the LG Art Center continues to adapt, it aims to maintain its role as a key cultural contributor by enhancing audience experiences and fostering communication. Meanwhile, the former Yeoksam location is now the GS Art Center, presenting potential new competition in the thriving Korean cultural scene.
