Tourism Bodies Pledge Closer Cooperation to Boost Industry Recovery

New Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) president Park Seong-hyuk visited the Korea Tourism Association Central Council to meet chair Lee Kyung-soo and discuss joint efforts to revive the tourism industry. They agreed on measures including adjusting the departure levy, addressing severe labor shortages, and providing field-oriented support. Lee asked for KTO’s active participation in the 2026 NaeNara Travel Fair (내나라여행박람회) to ensure its success. Park stressed the KTO’s role in implementing government tourism policies on the ground and promised stronger communication so policy benefits reach local businesses and travelers. Both organizations committed to ongoing cooperation to strengthen a field-centered response for industry recovery.
