Olive Young, South Korea’s largest health & beauty (H&B) retailer, opened its first wellness platform 'Olive Better' in Gwanghwamun on the 30th. Replacing a Starbucks spot in the D-Tower, the multi-level store shifts focus from cosmetics to daily routines—eat, rest, and manage—offering curated food, supplements, sleep and relaxation products, and in-store tasting and scent experiences. The ground floor features salads, high-protein ready meals and protein products for busy office workers, while the second floor presents a daytime wellness routine with light meals, inner-beauty (inner beauty), slimming, sleep-health (sleep beauty) and sports nutrition items. The store carries about 500 brands and 3,000 wellness SKUs across roughly 130 pyeong (pyeong: Korean unit of area), and plans include converting some existing Olive Young stores to the new format and opening a second branch in Gangnam. An integrated app-in-app connects Olive Better with Olive Young’s membership, offering personalized supplement recommendations and routine reminders plus same-day delivery and pickup. Olive Young positions Olive Better as a way to expand 'K-wellness' by making everyday wellness accessible and enjoyable, aiming to build a local wellness ecosystem.
