A new musical titled 'Bi·S·Dok' highlights the role of Buddhist nuns (bikuni) who contributed to Korea's independence movement during Japanese colonial rule. Featuring stories like that of nun Okbong, who helped raise funds for independence, the show combines historical facts and creative storytelling. The musical comprises the lives of nuns like Bongryeogwan, Seonghae, Sanggeun, and more, who actively participated in the anti-colonial struggle. A standout moment portrays nuns committing to the national debt repayment movement in the early 1900s. The musical, showing until March 2, coincides with the commemoration of the March 1st Movement, a pivotal event in Korea's path to independence.
