Gyeonggi Tourism Organization will run a large online promotion, “Real Korea Gyeonggi Festa,” with major Chinese platforms including Trip.com and Hanyouwang to attract Chinese tourists during the upcoming Lunar New Year (Chunseol) holiday. The campaign highlights Gyeonggi Province as a close, safe place to experience authentic Korea and features a special Year of the Horse promotional page, banner ads, brand marketing, and discounted tour packages. In partnership with Meituan, a K-food travel campaign will recommend local K-food spots (e.g., Suwon wanggalbi, Nammun fried chicken street, Paju jangdankong set, grilled eel, Uijeongbu budaejjigae) using GPS-based location suggestions, introduce trendy large cafes, and promote K-drama filming sites and other Hallyu experiences aimed at Chinese MZ generation travelers. The board aims to directly attract about 20,000 Chinese visitors during the holiday to boost the regional economy, building on last year’s success of drawing 70,000 Chinese tourists through platform partnerships. The campaign is timed with resumed Korea-China ties and anticipated visa-free exchanges, and will expand later to markets like Japan, Southeast Asia, and CIS countries.
