Mungyeong Launches Lunar New Year Gift Fair with Discounts on Local Produce

Mungyeong City in North Gyeongsang Province is hosting a Lunar New Year gift fair from Feb 1–22, offering about 200 local agricultural and livestock products at 4–22% off. The sale runs on two online malls ('Mungyeong Sarang Saejae Market' and 'Mungyeong Saejae Morning') and at two highway rest-area direct-sale shops on the Jungbu Naeryuk Expressway. Popular items include processed goods made from Mungyeong omija (Schisandra berries) and apples—such as omija syrup, wine, and the premium “Snow White-loved Mungyeong apple juice”—as well as yakdol hanwoo (beef raised on medicinal stone, noted for higher oleic and unsaturated fat), shiitake mushrooms, honey, dried persimmons, and specialty oils. The city emphasizes shortened supply chains with farm-to-door delivery, elegant packaging, free shipping over 50,000 KRW, and a new-member coupon promotion.
