Korean composer Unsuk Chin's works, performed by the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, have won a prize at the International Classical Music Awards (ICMA). The 'Berlin Philharmonic Unsuk Chin Edition', released in December 2023, features Chin’s orchestral and concerto compositions conducted by maestros such as Simon Rattle and Chung Myung-whun. Prestigious soloists like violinist Christian Tetzlaff, cellist Alban Gerhardt, and pianist Kim Sun-wook contributed to the album. ICMA appreciated the close and rich collaboration between Chin and the Berlin Philharmonic, emphasizing Chin's prominence as one of the most important composers of the 21st century. The ICMA ceremony will be held in Düsseldorf, Germany, on March 19th.
