Some Aptamil 'First Infant Formula' 800g tins produced in Ireland were voluntarily recalled in the UK and parts of Europe after potential contamination with cereulide, a heat-resistant toxin produced by Bacillus cereus that can cause vomiting and diarrhea. European authorities advised parents not to feed affected tins (best-before 31 Oct 2026) to infants as a precaution. South Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety tested 113 domestic and imported formula products and found no cereulide contamination in products sold locally. Danone Nutricia Korea said officially distributed Aptamil in Korea is from separate production lines and meets safety standards. Regulators warned that products bought via overseas direct import (direct purchase) channels could still pose a risk and asked online platforms to halt sales of the recalled batches. Parents are checking lot numbers and discussing formula choices on parenting cafes (맘카페).
