Lotte Tour Development has signed a three-year strategic partnership with MSC Cruises to bring Asia’s largest cruise ship, MSC Bellissima, to Korea. The 171,598-ton vessel—about 3 football fields long (approx. 315.8m) and 20 stories high (approx. 65m)—can carry about 5,600 passengers and 1,500 crew. The ship, noted for its long LED “sky dome” promenade, Michelin-chef dining concepts, and Broadway-caliber shows, was named Asia’s best cruise ship in 2024 and 2025. Lotte plans a 6-night, 7-day charter itinerary from Incheon in June 2027 calling at Keelung (Taiwan) and Sasebo (Japan), positioning the voyages as “stay-style” travel with onboard performances and gourmet programs. The offering will include the luxury MSC Yacht Club (a “ship within a ship” with suites, private lounge/restaurant/pool, and 24-hour butler service). Lotte and MSC aim to expand from one ship in 2027 to up to three by 2029, building a long-term partnership to grow Korea’s cruise market.
