South Korean hotels are expanding beyond simple stays for the Lunar New Year holiday with themed experience packages combining performances, dining, wellness and traditional culture. Seoul’s Shilla Hotel will stage a musical gala “Timeless Tunes: Luna Showtime” with live-station buffet courses and paired wines. Lotte Hotel World in Jamsil targets families with character-led entertainment—daily swing jazz lobby shows featuring Lotte World characters, kids’ shows, character signings, traditional games like yutnori (a Korean board game) and early park access. The Westin Josun Parnas emphasizes wellness dining with a “Full of Fortune” package offering restorative dishes and wellness cocktails, plus high-end weekend brunch items. Inspire resort on Yeongjong Island offers hanbok (traditional Korean clothing) and sebae (a New Year’s bow) experiences, calligraphy, and a fusion menu including tteokguk (rice cake soup) and Cantonese poon choi. Other hotels launch spa-and-stay hampers and wish-themed packages. Industry sources say personalized cultural content is now a key booking driver as guest tastes diversify.
