CJ Olive Young is stepping up collaborations using IP (intellectual property) and will run its first 2026 character collaboration in February with South Korean creator Yurang’s popular character ‘Manggeureojin Bear’ (망그러진 곰). After successful 2025 partnerships with Sanrio characters and Pop Mart—where participating brands saw sales jump and pop-up stores drew record visitors—Olive Young plans broader domestic and global IP projects to lower participation barriers for brands and boost marketing impact. The February collaboration includes 119 products across 21 brands, featuring beauty items with character packaging, lifestyle goods (plush keyrings, tumblers), limited-edition freebies for purchases over 70,000 won, and a themed pop-up in Hongdae. There will also be a webtoon on Olive Young’s Instagram and interactive online events allowing customers to create personalized items using character stickers. Olive Young says the multi-channel campaign aims to deepen customer engagement and further develop scalable IP collaboration models with partner brands.
