Aekyung Industrial reported a Q4 operating loss of 3.4 billion KRW and a 4.8% drop in revenue to 162.9 billion KRW, marking a return to the red. For the full year, revenue fell 3.6% to 654.5 billion KRW and operating profit plunged 54.8% to 21.1 billion KRW. Company executives blamed weak performance in China and a sluggish domestic consumption environment. Cosmetics division revenue declined sharply (4Q cumulative 21.5 billion KRW, operating profit 7.5 billion KRW), citing business restructuring in China, while the company pursues growth via localized product launches and expanded retail channels—such as AGE20’S and LUNA entering Costco in Japan and expanding shade ranges and a new brand “signiq” on Amazon and TikTok Shop in the U.S. Household goods fared better in sales (4Q cumulative 42.85 billion KRW) but saw a 23.3% drop in operating profit due to higher sales and marketing costs and weak domestic demand. Aekyung says it will diversify its brand portfolio, push global and premium strategies, and strengthen digital and growth channel platforms to build a mid- to long-term growth base.
