Seoul is turning gaming into a tourism draw as eSports venues, museums and themed PC bangs (Korean internet cafés specializing in gaming) create new visitor experiences. The global fame of League of Legends and superstar player Faker—recently awarded the high-level Cheongryong Medal (a national sports honor)—has boosted interest. Venues like Jonggak LoL Park offer live-match atmosphere with big screens, trophies and fan events; Netmarble Game Museum presents interactive exhibits on gaming history; and team-run spaces such as Gen.G GX and T1 Basecamp combine cafés, merch shops and play zones. Unique menus and displays of players’ jerseys and trophies make these spots attractive to foreign fans, helping eSports become a cultural tourism resource in Seoul.
