Exhibit of Venerable Beopjeong's Calligraphy Marks 16th Memorial

An exhibition featuring around 100 handwritten letters and brush-calligraphy works by the late Venerable Beopjeong (1932–2010) opened at Gallery Space Supernormal in Seoul’s Seongbuk-gu. Titled “Beopjeong Among Us – Brush Play,” the show runs through March 21 and collects the monk’s writings as part of preparations to build a ‘Musoyu Literature Hall’ at Gilsangsa (a temple). Highlights include a letter to Sister Lee Hae-in, showing a warm, shared sense of contemplative solitude beyond religious divides, and letters to his disciples such as Head Monk Deokjo of Gilsangsa. Beopjeong lived in a hut on the Odaesan mountainside in Pyeongchang from 1992 until his passing, where he dedicated himself to monastic practice.
