Daegu Kansong Museum will unveil a fully renewed permanent exhibition starting Jan. 27, showing 31 cultural items (40 works) spanning late Joseon painters, calligraphy, and ceramics. Highlights include genre and figure paintings by masters like Shin Yun-bok (including four works from the national treasure album "Hyewon Jeonsincheop"), Kim Hong-do, and Lee In-mun depicting urban life and scholarly leisure; animal-themed works such as Yoo Suk’s tiger paintings and Sim Sa-jeong’s falcon scene symbolizing protection and good fortune; and a selection of calligraphy from the 18th–19th centuries reflecting Qing-influenced shifts. The ceramics section presents 14 items (15 pieces) including sky-blue celadon (cheongja), buncheong (buncheong ware), and white porcelain (baekja) like a lotus-carved celadon vase and a blue-and-white jar with a fisherman motif. A special focused gallery features Jang Seung-eop’s acclaimed “Saminmyeonnyeon.” The painting and calligraphy displays run through May 25; Shin Yun-bok’s national treasure album will be temporarily withdrawn for conservation after this period.
