Paradiso di Cacuci: A Traditional Brunello di Montalcino Paradise

In northern Montepulciano’s famed Montalcino hills, Paradiso di Cacuci offers a secluded villa and a tiny-production winery celebrated for traditional Brunello di Montalcino (BDM). Nestled at about 560m in the Canalicchi Alti area near the prestigious Montosoli cru, the estate produces only 25,000 bottles yearly. Owner Ovidiu‑Gogu Cacuci modernized equipment while converting vineyards to organic and assembled a top winemaking team led by consultant Giuseppe Gorelli. Paradiso ages its wines in large Slavonian oak barrels (Slavonian oak) to preserve terroir and elegance, practices strict hand selection and natural fermentation, and often doubles regulatory aging times for BDM and Riserva. The wines show concentrated dark cherry, mineral and balsamic notes, fine tannins and strong structure—pairing well with Tuscan dishes like bistecca alla fiorentina, truffle pasta and aged pecorino. The estate also offers a private villa with four rooms overlooking Val d’Orcia (Val d’Orcia) for immersive wine and culinary stays.
