In January, Korea's tourism industry experienced a significant resurgence, overcoming various challenges. According to the Korea Tourism Organization, foreign visitors to Korea reached approximately 1.12 million, marking a 29% increase compared to the same month last year and achieving 101% of the pre-pandemic level in January 2019. China, Japan, Taiwan, and the United States were leading sources of visitors, with notable recoveries in the Taiwan and Hong Kong markets compared to 2019. Meanwhile, 2.97 million Koreans traveled abroad in January, reflecting a 7.3% year-over-year increase.
