Phu Quoc, a Vietnamese island gaining popularity with Korean travelers, is praised as one of the world’s most beautiful islands. Sunset Town in the southwest features European-style architecture, clear blue seas and spectacular sunsets. The 800m “Kiss Bridge” (a bridge with a 30cm gap at the center) is a romantic photo spot where couples can pose for a “kiss” at sunset. Nearby, a 7.9km sea cable car — the world’s longest over water — connects to Hon Thom island, which hosts Aquatopia waterpark and steep wooden roller coasters, plus outdoor barbecues. Evenings bring large-scale shows: the Symphony of the Sea and the multimedia Kiss of the Sea (a massive outdoor water, fire, laser and fireworks performance). Restaurants and bars with outdoor European-style seating stay open late. La Festa Phu Quoc, a Hilton-affiliated resort opened in 2023, offers sea-view rooms and one free show ticket per guest. Visitors can also tour local farms producing pearls, pepper and honey. Phu Quoc received a sharp tourism increase (about 7.6 million visitors through November) and is a 30-day visa-free special zone for foreigners; it will host APEC 2027. Direct flights from Incheon, Busan and Daegu take 5–6 hours, but the airport’s small departure area means arriving at least two hours early is advisable.
