A hands-on “Where’s Wally? (Where’s Wally?/Where’s Waldo?)” exhibition opened at The Seoul Lightium near Seoul Forest in Seongsu-dong, drawing families and nostalgia-seekers. The show recreates scenes from Martin Handford’s best-selling picture book (first published in 1987) across more than ten themed spaces — from ancient kingdoms and underwater worlds to fantastical clouds and mixed-up book universes — with multiple hidden-character missions (e.g., find Wally, Wally’s girlfriend, or a lying dog). Visitors can walk through large-scale installations, take photos with a 3m Wally figure, dress up, draw Wally, and earn the satisfaction of finding characters. Organizers say the immersive, game-like format has been popular, attracting over 15,000 visitors in the first month, and merchandise like plush toys and keyrings are selling strongly as attendees want souvenirs of their interactive experience.
