Billion Box, a U.S.-style handmade burger franchise in Korea, has launched a ‘3-No (3무)’ policy to structurally reduce recurring costs and labor demands at franchise locations. The policy includes: 1) No fresh-vegetable loss—menus redesigned to avoid fresh produce (to eliminate price volatility and prep waste); 2) No kitchen dishwashing—a simplified kitchen workflow that removes dishwashing tasks and reduces staff workload; and 3) No dining-floor staff—kiosk ordering, self-pickup and return zones to allow operation without constant front-of-house employees. The chain says these changes lower fixed expenses, reduce operational risk, and improve franchisee profitability. Billion Box presents the measure as part of a long-term franchise support strategy that also includes cost-conscious menu development, phased marketing for new outlets, and continued expansion across Korea. CEO Seung-Hoon Jeon emphasizes the company’s commitment to easing structural burdens so franchisees can focus on store operations.
