Ambiguous Dance Company, led by choreographer Kim Bo-ram, is challenging the norms of contemporary dance in Korea by performing 15 shows for the 15th anniversary of their signature piece, 'Body Concert', at the 1004-seat CJ Towol Theater in Seoul. This is a bold move as contemporary dance is a niche genre in Korea, often limited to smaller venues. This series is unique as it operates without government subsidies or corporate sponsorship, with ticket prices reaching up to 100,000 won (approx. $75). 'Body Concert' is known for blending pop, classical, and traditional Korean music with dance, offering an entry point for new audiences. The series will continue with performances in France and Switzerland. Despite facing challenges with ticket sales, the company aims to reshape perceptions about contemporary dance.
