The report introduces Juhulsan (1108.4 m), the guardian peak of Mungyeong in North Gyeongsang Province, accessed via the historic Mungyeongsaejae trail. The 6.5 km old pass route between the first gate (Juhulgwan) and the second/third gates remains an unpaved dirt path preserved by order of former president Park Chung-hee, giving hikers a rare natural experience amid Korea’s heavily paved landscape. The mountain has three summits—Jubong (1077.6 m), Yeongbong (about 31 m higher than Jubong), and Gwanbong (1039.8 m)—and offers features such as the 20 m Yeogung Waterfall (said to resemble a woman’s lower body), the historic Haeguksa temple site, and the “sangnodae tunnel” of frost-formed rime on the 1000 m ridge that creates dreamlike scenery in winter. The full loop is about 14.5 km and takes roughly six hours; the route, access points, safety notes (winter, fire-control closures), and driving/public-transport directions are provided.
