hy's Probiotic HY7017 Approved as Functional Ingredient to Boost Immunity

hy’s newly developed probiotic strain HY7017, isolated from ginseng root, has been officially recognized by South Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety as an approved “individually recognized functional ingredient” (개별인정형 기능성 원료). This designation, granted only to ingredients with proven safety and efficacy, gives hy exclusive use rights for a period and raises its portfolio to nine such ingredients. In human trials with adults showing mildly weakened immunity, HY7017 intake increased natural killer (NK) cell activity by 5.0% and raised levels of two immune-regulating cytokines (IFN-γ and IL-12), showing simultaneous improvement in multiple immune markers. HY7017 is already used in hy’s product “Mpro Immune” and the company plans wider application across products. hy says this supports its position as Korea’s leading probiotics company and will drive development of high-functionality strains and products tailored to consumer health needs.
