The Daegu Kansong Museum announced its 2026 program featuring two major shows: a Chusa Kim Jeong-hui exhibition and a special exhibition on Gyeomjae Jeong Seon. Curated for the 120th anniversary of Kansong Jeon Hyeong-pil’s birth, the Chusa exhibition “Chusa’s Painting Lessons” opens in April and focuses on the 19th-century scholar-artist who created the distinctive Chusa-style (추사체) of calligraphy, bringing together his key paintings and national treasure–level works. In September, a special exhibition on Gyeomjae Jeong Seon will present the master of true-view landscape painting (진경산수화), co-organized with the Samsung Foundation and including loans from the National Museum of Korea, Horim Museum, and private collectors. Additionally, Hyewon Shin Yun-bok’s “Portrait of a Beauty” (미인도) will be displayed in a separate space at the museum starting in July.
