Sapporo’s Winter-Only Beer Sells Out in Korea After Strong Seasonal Marketing

Sapporo Breweries’ winter-limited beer “Sapporo Winter Story” sold out in South Korea after a surge in demand. Importer MZBeverage said all 2025 stock was dispatched despite quadrupling supply from last year. The seasonal brew uses selected malts and hops and this year increased premium Satsuma (Satsuma: a Japanese region) pine aroma hops and alcohol content for a richer winter flavor; its snowflake-themed packaging boosted seasonal appeal. Retail data show sales and market share more than doubled in the first month after release compared with 2024. The importer credited heightened interest in Japanese beers, pop-up events at convenience stores and a trendy Euljiro spot called “GanppajinSae” (간빠진새) for driving attention. Following recent successes including a lower-carb light beer, Sapporo is strengthening its presence in Korea’s import beer market.
