The National Changgeuk Company of Korea will present a new opera titled 'Boheoja,' from March 13-20 at the National Theater's Daloreum Theater. The opera is a modern creation based on the historical backdrop involving King Sejo and Grand Prince Anpyeong, set post-Goryeo Dynasty. The story highlights the power struggles and tragic outcomes of this period. 'Boheoja,' meaning 'The Person Walking in the Void,' is derived from traditional court music and portrays both historical and symbolic narratives. The production is directed by Kim Jeong, becoming her first endeavor in Changgeuk direction, featuring notable performances by actors such as Kim Junsu. This art form merges traditional Korean music (gugak) with theatrical storytelling, bringing historical events to the stage.
